Hello
My name is CJ. I created this website because I spend a lot of time ranking random stuff and I want to share it with the world (or at least you, dear reader). I began ranking in 2019 as a way of having convicted, locked-and-loaded opinions on various topics. Small talk is a trivial but necessary evil (like wearing pants in the wintertime) and I want to be prepared. I saw it as a waste of time so I resolved to improve it by transitioning from conversations about weather and other peoples kids to conversations about which country has the coolest flag or which fictional holiday from a TV show you wish to celebrate. I hope you enjoy.

Why name the site CJ Ranks Stuff?
My name is CJ. It stands for Christian James, but my parents actually decided I was a CJ before they decided what CJ stood for. I am and have always been CJ. And I'm ranking stuff so... you know... clearly I put a lot of effort into the title.
Why Top 11 Lists?
There are multiple reasons but the first (and most obvious) is that it gives 110% of a Top 10 List (math). I believe in going the extra mile, etcetera, etcetera. Additionally, it is an homage to the great film "This Is Spinal Tap," which features a guitar amp in which the numbers all go to 11. "It's one louder." Plus, who doesn't love a prime number (math).
Who Are You?
I'm CJ Tiernan, a man born in Iowa who lives in Illinois and likes to keep things light. Life is hard. I refuse to be someone who adds to the difficulty. My goal is simply to make the world a little brighter for having been in it. I wear fun, brightly-colored shirts and profer quick-witted quips to embrace the bright side of life. Be the change you want to see in the world and all that jazz.
What Gives You the Right?
Harsh, but fair. I'm not an expert (at anything, really). I've spent the past few decades amassing knowledge, studying the world, sampling its wares. Living, some call it. I've lived, I've laughed, I've had New Haven-style pizza. I don't know everything about anything but I know enough about enough to masquerade as an authority on the subjects of my choosing.
